COVID-19 Vaccination Policy for Faculty and Staff
COVID-19 vaccinations are not required for Faculty and Staff but are strongly recommended as a safety measure to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
COVID-19 Reporting and Guidance for Employees
As of February 3, 2025, Cal/OSHA's Prevention Non-Emergency Standards have ended. However, employers are still required to track and record COVID-19 cases. Employees who test positive for COVID-19 should report their case to the university using the Report a Case form.
There are no longer mandatory isolation periods for COVID-19. Following CDC guidance, employees should:
- Stay home if you have symptoms of any respiratory virus, including COVID-19.
- Return to normal activities when symptoms have improved for at least 24 hours and have been fever-free without medication.
- Take precautions for 5 days after returning to normal activities, such as wearing a mask indoors when around others and physical distancing when possible.
For more details, visit the CDC's guidance on respiratory viruses.
Employees may use their available sick leave while recovering.
