Background

Sara Bakalian is the Lead Instructional Developer who has extensive experience creating effective, accessible, inclusive and interactive learning experiences and is dedicated to providing support for faculty to use technology in ways that will increase student learning and engagement. She began working at SJSU in 2007 teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) for the International Gateways program and joined the Center for Faculty Excellence and Teaching Innovation (CFETI) in 2021.

Sara holds an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from San Jose State University, a BA in Cultural Anthropology from University of California, Santa Cruz, and an Instructional Design Certificate from University of California, Irvine.
