Emergency Assistance
MAIN CAMPUS:
In the event of an emergency, contact SJSU Emergency Dispatchers directly.
- Call 911 from a campus phone
- Or Call (408) 924-2222 from a cell phone
- Or use a blue light phone or elevator phone
- If uncertain, call 911 on any phone and clearly explain your location at San Jose State University
Also call SJSU Emergency Dispatchers if hazardous materials spill or if urgent safety situations occur after hours (outside 8AM-5PM on days campus is open). On-call safety staff will be deployed by Emergency Dispatchers when needed.

MOSS LANDING MARINE LABS:
In the event of an emergency, call 911 from any phone. Then call the MLML Safety Officer Brian Gallagher (831) 771-4451.
If you cannot reach the MLML Safety Officer Brian Gallagher during emergency or urgent safety situations, call SJSU Emergency Dispatchers at (408) 924-2222. Emergency Services near Moss Landing or on-call SJSU safety staff will be deployed by SJSU Emergency Dispatchers when needed.

Routine Safety Support
MAIN CAMPUS:
Email science-safety@sjsu.edu for assistance with routine safety and compliance tasks. The College of Science Safety Team provides day-to-day support to teaching, technical, and research operations on campus. This includes performing safety inspections, providing safety training, auditing safety documentation, managing chemicals and hazardous waste, and responding to hazardous material spills during normal working hours for the College of Science.
MOSS LANDING MARINE LABS:
Email brian.galagher@sjsu.edu for assistance with routine safety and compliance tasks. The Moss Landing Marine Labs Safety Officer provides day-to-day support to teaching, technical, and research operations. This includes performing safety inspections, providing safety training, auditing safety documentation, managing chemicals and hazardous waste, and responding to hazardous material spills during normal working hours for Moss Landing Marine Labs.
Urgent Building Facilities Problems
During normal business hours, report the facility problem to your Department Office.
After normal business hours, report the facility problem to the University Police Department at (408) 924-2222 from a cell phone or 42222 from a campus phone.
