Vice Provost for Academic Innovation Search
The Office of the Provost is launching a national search for the Vice Provost for Academic Innovation. To ensure we attract the strongest pool of candidates, WittKieffer executive search firm will be engaged to assist the search committee throughout the process. This search is anticipated to conclude late fall 2025 or early spring 2026.
Position Announcement
The Vice Provost for Academic Innovation, reporting to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, leads efforts across Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE), Global Engagement and Partnerships, and a range of Specialized Programs and Services, including the Testing and Passport Offices. This role advances SJSU’s entrepreneurial initiatives to expand access through PaCE programs at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, while also building global partnerships that drive student enrollment and exchange in the San José region. The Vice Provost oversees a dynamic unit where pilot projects are cultivated, continuing education is expanded, and specialized programs are developed to meet evolving campus and community needs. A key priority is increasing access through SJSU Online and other core platforms. The Vice Provost collaborates with Academic Affairs units to manage budgets, coordinate program delivery with colleges, and develop new offerings that align with workforce and global demands. This role also provides strategic leadership to a team of managers and staff, fostering a service-oriented culture that supports students, faculty, and campus partners.
