Assigning Student Groups by Individual Student Guide

Requirements:

You must have the proper security access/role to update student groups.

    • SRSGEC role must be granted
    • Student Group code access can be assigned by ITS or Office of the Registrar
    • Request role and Student Group code access via Request access for MySJSU

Steps:

  • Navigate to the Student Groups Page:
    • Go to: Main Menu > Records and Enrollment > Career and Program Information > Student Groups

          Other menu items available may be different based on the security access of the user.

  • Enter Student Information:
    • Enter the EmplID (student ID).
    • Click Search

              How to search by student ID?

  • Add a New Student Group:
    • If a student already has student groups, click + to add a new row.
    • Enter the Student Group code (e.g., HONR for Honors).
    • Enter the Effective Date (this should be on or before the date you want the group to be active).
    • Set the Status to "Active."
  • Optional Fields:
    • Comments: Add any relevant notes.
  • Save the record.
