Canvas

Canvas is the learning management system used by SJSU. Learn some of the most widely used features of Canvas are canvas assignments, grading, discussions, and quizzes from these tutorials.  

Zoom

Learn how to attend online classes and create video presentation using Zoom from the Zoom tutorial.

Panopto

Panopto is a video viewing, creating and management tool in Canvas. See the Panopto webpage for useful study features and resources. 

Proctoring 

Learn how to be prepared on online exams with some of the proctoring softwares used in SJSU.

Get familiar with Respondus Lockdown Browser, Proctorio, and ProctorU from these tutorials.  

MySJSU Basics

DUO

SJSU uses DUO for a secure authentication. Please check out the details from the DUO Authentication Page

NameCoach

NameCoach is a tool designed to help instructors and students learn how to pronounce the names of the people in their classes and use their gender pronouns. Use NameCoach to record your own name and to listen to name recordings made by others.

NameCoach can be accessed in Canvas either in the Global Navigation Account tab or in any Canvas course in which you are enrolled. This video demonstrates how to record your name on NameCoach in Canvas

You can also access NameCoach by signing in to NameCoach through one.sjsu.edu. There you can create or edit your NameCoach profile and add it to your email signature. This 3 minute video demonstrates how to add NameCoach to your email signature

DocuSign

DocuSign is an application that provides electronic signature technology and digital transaction management services for facilitating electronic exchanges of contracts and signed documents. It allows users to securely upload, sign and send documents requiring signature, thereby eliminating the need for paper documentation.

Google Suite

Google Apps

There are many different Google Apps available from within your SJSU Google Drive account.

Google Docs

You can use a Google Doc to write a paper or take notes. All changes are saved automatically. It also works well for groups projects as multiple people can type simultaneously.

 Software Downloads

Mathematica

Mathematica is a software application that provides a mathematical computing environment for algorithmic computation, interactive manipulation, dynamic presentation, and data interaction. 

Follow the directions below to download from the Wolfram User Portal.

Create an account (New users only):

  1. Go to user.wolfram.com and click "Create Account"
  2. Fill out form using a @sjsu.edu email, and click "Create Wolfram ID"
  3. Check your email and click the link to validate your Wolfram ID

Request the download and key:

  1. Fill out this form to request an Activation Key
  2. Click the "Product Summary page" link to access your license
  3. Click "Get Downloads" and select "Download" next to your platform
  4. Run the installer on your machine, and enter Activation Key at prompt
ArcGIS

This suite of software applications allow for the collection and management of data, creation of professional maps, performance of traditional and advanced spatial analysis, and solution of real problems. This can range from the creation of simple web maps to complex analytical models. Contact CFETI if interested in gaining access.

Panopto

Panopto is a video creating and sharing tool that's integrated into Canvas. Students must access Panopto from within a Canvas video assignment. For more information, see How to Submit a Panopto Video in Canvas.

SPSS

SPSS is a software suite used for data management and statistical analysis. It includes statistical functions related to descriptive statistics, bivariate statistics, and numerical and group predictions.

Qualtrics

Qualtrics, an online survey software that empowers you to collect, analyze and act on relevant data. Access you Qualtrics account by logging in with your SJSUOne credentials at home page..

iClicker

iClicker is a student response system used for participation in polling, quizzing and discussion starters.

Portfolium

Portfolium is an academic portfolio network that gives faculty, staff, students, and alumni the power to create, manage and personalize their own beautifully organized, interactive collection of projects, work samples, skills, activities and accomplishments. Log into 

Portfolium home page  with your SJSU email address to access your account.  

Adobe Creative Cloud

Learn about the various desktop apps by Adobe Creative Cloud for SJSU Students.

Refer this tutorial to learn basic steps about how to install Adobe Creative Cloud for Free. 

Microsoft

Visit Microsoft Office for Students and sign up for Office 365 for free. You have access for as long as you are an enrolled student.
