Room Swap Process

Requests will be accepted August 30, 2024 at 9am through September 6, 2024 at 5pm.

Residents notified if request is approved or denied BY September 12, 2024 at 5pm.

Residents (if approved) move Friday, September 13, 2023 at 1pm through Sunday, September 15, 2023 at 6pm.

ALL Residents:

If you are interested in a room swap for Fall 2024, you will need to participate in the Room Swap process.  We are only able to consider room swaps, since there are not empty rooms available to move into.  If you currently live in a Studio in CVB and would like a room swap, please email the Housing Office at uhs-frontdesk@sjsu.edu.

To apply for a room swap, and find someone to swap with, please login to the Housing Portal at this link:

If you already know who you want to swap rooms with, BOTH residents need to apply for the room swap process online and then request each other through the Room swap portal and accept the request online.

The Room Swap process online through the Housing portal must be completed by Friday, September 6, 2024 at 5pm.  We will not accept late requests.

SJSU Housing Services and Student Support Information

Spartan Village on the Paseo, SJSU's First and Newest Off-Campus Residence Hall, Opens August 2024

Approximately 670 new student beds will occupy what is currently the south tower of the San José Hilton Signia luxury hotel complex in the heart of downtown. 

Double, triple and quad room types will be available. The quads include a separate living room area in each unit. All units will have a private full bathroom. 

Amenities will include dining and community kitchen facilities, fitness center, gaming room, mail services, and study and recreational lounges. All residents will be required to select one of three exclusive meal plans.

Housing staff will also live on site including professional Residential Life Coordinators (RLC) and student Resident Advisors (RA's).

New students can apply beginning March 5. Returning students can apply starting February 26. Find out how to apply.

Mail Forwarding

In order to have your mail forwarded, please follow the instructions below.  Mail will only be forwarded for 3 months or for summer only if you are returning in the fall.

  1. Fill out the Mail Forwarding form.
  2. Notify your family, friends, SJSU departments, bill collectors, and any other businesses you send mail to, or receive mail from, of your new address.
