- Faculty Article Processing Charge Support

The Davidson College of Engineering will help fund the Article Processing Charges (APC) for faculty to publish in reputable, high-quality journals in their RSCA areas, subject to budget availability. Faculty members will be limited to one funded request (up to $2000) per academic year if the request meets the metrics stated in the guideline.
Due Date
February 1 for papers accepted during June 1 - Jan. 31
June 1 for papers accepted during Feb. 1 - May 31
October 1 for papers accepted between June 1 - Sept 30

- Faculty Grant Development Working Group

Faculty are invited to submit applications to participate in the engineering grant development working group program. A working group can be formed by 4-5 faculty members who are committed to (1) developing new external grant proposals or (2) working on resubmissions for funding opportunities that are similar in nature and/or have deadlines that are close to each other.
Application Due Dates
Applications will be accepted if submitted at least three months before the earliest grant submission deadline of the group, but those submitted before the following deadlines will receive priority consideration, within the program budget.

- Faculty Small Group Projects

Faculty are invited to submit a competitive research proposal to the Small Group Projects CoE Dean’s initiative. The initiative supports a small group of 2-3 SJSU faculty proposing to conduct promising and exciting research in their collective area of strength.

- Faculty Professional Development

Proposals are being solicited from all instructional faculty for CoE Professional Development Grants (PDGs). The College will support four categories of grants, subject to budget availability.
AY 2024-25 Due Dates:
June 30, 2024
September 20, 2024
March 20, 2025After the deadlines, applications will be considered for as long as the budget permits. Please note that all PDG-supported travel should have FTS authorization requests approved before the trip. To allow enough time for FTS approval for international trips (i.e., FTS submissions must be 45 days before the trip), submit PDG at least 52 days before your trip if you depend on the PDG to cover your trip expenses.

- Student Conference Support Grant

The Davidson College of Engineering (CoE) will offer limited number of Davidson Student Conference Support Grants to support students as they present an accepted paper at a well-recognized conference.
Due Date:
February 1 for papers accepted during June 1 – Jan. 31
June 1 for papers accepted during Feb. 1 – May 31
October 1 for papers accepted between June 1 – Sept 30After the deadlines, applications will be considered for as long as the budget permits. To allow enough time for review and processing, submit SCSG application at least 21 days before your trip.
