Dr. Mourtos Delivers Workshop on course design to engineering faculty at Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman

Following a successful workshop at the World Engineering Education Forum in Dubai in December 2014, Dr. Mourtos was invited to deliver a three-day workshop on engineering course design to 100+ engineering faculty at Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman. The title of the workshop was Preparing Engineers for the 21st Century: How to Teach Engineering Students Process Skills.

During the workshop, engineering faculty from all disciplines, department chairs, as well as the dean and associate deans of the college, worked together in teams to re-design several of their courses in a way that ensures student development of problem-solving, design, communication, lifelong learning, team, change management, and self-assessment skills. The workshop was very well received, opening the possibility for offering follow up workshops in the future.
