Major & General Education (GE) Advising
Our advising services are offered in-person or via Zoom. The location of your appointment depends on your units earned (lower division versus upper division standing).
Lower Division students (0 to 59 earned units):
Complete "Academic/Schedule Planning" advising with a Student Success Specialist Advisor for hold removal.
- Locations: The Undergraduate Advising Hub (UAH) in the Student Services Center (North Garage) or Zoom
- Service: "Academic/Schedule Planning" or "General Education" appointment through Spartan Connect
Our advising will be limited if your transfer credit report is not complete and accurate. If you are completing a course during the summer, you are required to send official transcripts with final grades to SJSU for approval, processing, and posting.
Upper Division students (60 or more earned units):
As of September 17, 2025, Upper Division College of Science students were sent an email to register for an Upper Division Group Advising Workshop to complete major advising for hold removal. Registration links for an advising workshop can be found in the Subject Headline: "Complete your Fall 2025 required major advising" Spartan Connect Message or your email.
- Locations: The College of Science Student Success Center (CoS-SSC) Duncan Hall (DH 212) or Zoom
- Service: "Academic/Schedule Planning" or "General Education" appointment through Spartan Connect
Students with Upper Division standing are invited to join the College of Science Student Success Center Upper Division Advising Canvas course. Join and turn on notifications to receive advising announcements, connect to SJSU resources, and engage with SJSU's opportunities for STEM students.
