If you are on Academic Notice, Major Notice, and/or Progress Notice you will be contacted about your 'Notice Category' through your SJSU email address by the start of Fall or Spring semester(s).
Categories:
Academic Notice Advising are based on SJSU and College of Science Academic Notice Policies. The following are the categories by which a student will receive Academic Notice Advising:
- University Academic Notice is determined by a your academic standing at SJSU (SJSU GPA requirements) as outlined in SJSU's University Academic Requirements
- Major Notice is determined by the College of Science Policy on Academic Standing in the Undergraduate Major [pdf]. [pdf] Minimum Academic Requirements in the College of Science major is outlined your degree catalog
- Progress Notice is determined by the College of Science Policy on Academic Standing in the Undergraduate Major [pdf] [pdf] and making degree progress in completing your College of Science major
CoS-SSC Academic Notice Programming:
All students in any category of Academic Notice are invited to an Academic Notice Program Canvas Course at the start of Fall and Spring semesters. If you are on Academic Notice and do not have an invitation to this course, email CoS-SSC at science-advisingcenter@sjsu.edu.
You are required to complete "Academic Notice" Advising Appointments with your assigned CoS-SSC advisor throughout the semester. Your assigned Academic Notice Advisor contacts you through Spartan Connect to schedule these appointments.
