Exploratory Drop-In Advising

The Exploratory Student Success Center offers daily drop-in advising for Exploratory/undeclared students ONLY! Exploratory students can have their questions addressed without scheduling an appointment. Exploratory students can attend any Exploratory advisor's drop-in slots. There are both in-person and virtual drop-in advising sessions available. Please check our main webpage for any updates.

Drop-in advising sessions are for quick 10-15 minute questions. Students are seen on a first-come, first-serve basis. Topics may include:

  • Adding / Dropping a course
  • Course Schedule
  • Intended Major (Change of Major)
  • SJSU Policies and Procedures

If you need more time or have questions about an Exploratory / Undeclared Advising Hold on your account, please schedule an appointment through Spartan Connect.

The Exploratory Student Success team only offers drop-in advising hours during the scheduled posted times. Advisors may not be able to accomadate a student outside of their drop-in hours without an appointment. The student will be asked to schedule a future appointment or attend the next posted drop-in hours.

Location

In-Person Drop-Ins: Check-in at the Undergraduate Advising Hub front desk, located in the Student Services Center. The front-desk will ask you to scan a QR code to fill out a quick 1-min drop-in advising form.

Virtual Drop-Ins: Check-in on Spartan Connect during the posted virtual slots to access the zoom link.

When checking in for a virtual appointment on Spartan Connect, choose Academic Advising for the service area and Drop-In: Exploratory for the service.

FALL 2025 Drop-In Advising Schedule


The Exploratory Student Success Center will offer in-person and virtual drop-in advising through the FALL semester.

🗓️ FALL 2025 Drop-In Schedule:

Aug 18 – Sept 9 (Mon–Thurs)
Hours: 9:00–11:30 AM & 1:30–3:30 PM

Drop-ins are for quick 10–15 minute questions, no appointment needed and served on a first-come, first-served basis. Join us in-person at the Undergraduate Advising Hub or virtually via Zoom. For virtual drop-ins, check in through Spartan Connect during drop-in hours.

 

Note: Drop-ins are available only during the dates and times listed above for the first few weeks of the semester. Regular semester drop-in hours will be posted soon after.
