Dr. Raissa Douglas Ferron’s passion and love for the field of concrete materials began when she was an undergraduate student at Howard University.This love for concrete materials led her to pursue her MS and PhD degrees at Northwestern University.Currently, she is an Associate Professor at the University of Texas at Austin (UT).Her research expertise is in the area of materials science and engineering of infrastructure materials with focus on concrete materials processing, durability and sustainability. She has worked on projects ranging from stimuli-responsive composites to 3D printing. She holds one patent, and she was inducted as a Fellow of American Concrete Institute in 2017.She is also heavily active in mentoring initiatives and diversity, equity and inclusion work at UT.
