Celebrating 43 years of Black Excellence at San José State University
The Black Commencement Celebration is a cultural ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments
of SJSU students who have graduated Fall 2024 and students expected to graduate Spring,
Summer and Fall 2025. This celebration is a great opportunity to acknowledge your
academic achievements, honor your families, communities, and other significant people
in your lives, and to celebrate the Black cultural influences that have contributed
to your academic success. Participation in this event is voluntary and is open to
all graduating students who would like to participate, regardless of race, sex, color,
ethnicity or national origin.
We need your help in making the 42nd Annual Black Commencement Ceremony a celebration
to remember, this a movement towards supporting Black lives; not a moment. Please
