SOCI 181B Capstone
SOCI 181B is the Sociology Career Capstone course, intended to expand undergraduate senior opportunities and options as well as analyze trends in sociology. It is one of the requirements for all students pursuing Sociology majors and taking the course will explore employment opportunities and reflect and assess learning in the major.
To enroll for SOCI 181B in Spring 2025:
You will need to have completed the following prerequisites:
- Have an Application for Graduation on file for Spring 2025. If you have not already done so, please meet with a Sociology Major Advisor to have your online graduation application submitted.
- Passed SOCI 1, SOCI 100W, SOCI 101 and SOCI 104 or SOCI 105
If the prerequisites have been met, you may request enrollment in SOCI 181B for Spring 2025 by completing the SOCI 181B Permission Number Request form as soon as possible.
Please note the following:
- SISS office staff will begin distributing permission codes for SOCI 181B on Monday, November 4th. Please allow additional time for requests received after Friday, November 1st.
- Requests are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis. Completing the request form does NOT guarantee that you will receive a code for your first-choice section.
- If you have applied for graduation for Fall 2025 and are enrolling in 104 and/or 105 during Spring 2025, or have applied for graduation in Fall 2025 and have completed 104 and/or 105, you are eligible, and you may complete the request form. However, you will have to wait until all Spring 2025 graduates have been assigned to a section.
- SISS office staff will check eligibility. If you are not eligible, we will notify
you via email.
