MS in Speech-Language PathologyHow to register?
Registration for Fall begins on August 5th. Please follow the step-by-step registration instructions after you identify your student type below.
Currently-enrolled (admitted) SJSU students or those who have been admitted for the current term are not eligible to enroll through Open University. Registration for Open University students is not guaranteed and is subject to space availability. The enrollment limit for the Fall and Spring semester is 17 units for undergraduate students and 16 units for graduate students.
Identify your student status
Choose from the student status below. Depending on your student status, registration instructions will vary.
Current or former SJSU Graduate Students who have not completed their degree and were disqualified must register through the Open University using the DocuSign Registration Form. See our graduate student webpage for more information.
First-Time Open University student
- First-Time student w/ no SJSU ID (i.e. a student who attends another university or
college)
You must submit a Registration Form.
- First-Time student w/ an SJSU ID (i.e. a student who previously applied for admission
or attended SJSU)
Log into MySJSU starting the first day of registration on August 5.
- Recently Disqualified Spring 2026
As your first Open University semester, the Office of Registrar will set up your account. Please refer to your DQ email from the Office of Registrar for more details. You will have to wait until you have received an email from the Office of Registrar before you can start enrolling in classes.
Returning Open University student
- Returning student with SJSU ID with a recent enrollment within the past year
Get your account ready. Log into MySJSU and follow these self activation steps to activate your account. After activating your account, you can enroll in your class starting from the first day of the registration.
If you have issues accessing your student account, you can reset your password or contact the IT Help Desk at ithelpdesk@sjsu.edu.
Starting Wednesday, August 19, enroll in your class(es) by DocuSign Open U registration form. Have your instructor add you to the waitlist if the class is full. Permission numbers are not necessary for form submissions.
- Returning student without enrollment in the past year
You must submit a Registration Form.
- Repeating a class
First-Time Repeat
- You may enroll online through your MySJSU on April 8. Starting April 21, you must email the Office of the Registrar at registrar@sjsu.edu with your name, ID#, 5-digit class number, subject, course number, and section number in the email. Beginning on the first day of summer instruction, a permission number will be required.
Repeating for the Second Time or More- If you are repeating a class more than twice submit the repeat a course more than 2 times petition.
Other
- A post-baccalaureate/graduate student (i.e. a student who has already graduated from
SJSU or another University or college)
Post-baccalaureate/graduate students must submit a Registration Form.
- A high school student
[For fall and spring session] Please contact the Dual Enrollment Program at dualenrollment@sjsu.edu. [For winter and summer session] High school students interested in taking classes at SJSU during summer session will follow the registration instructions for first-time OU students (if this is your first time) and returning OU student (if you have attended OU previously before).
