Bio
Effie Chiu has been a lecturer in Linguistics and Language Development (LLD) since 2009, and has also taught writing courses in the English and Public Health & Recreation departments at SJSU. She has many years of experience teaching GE communications courses, as well as academic, content, and vocational ESL/EFL. From 2021-2024, she was awarded a Fulbright grant to advise on English teaching development in her native Taiwan. In addition to SJSU, she teaches for local community colleges. Effie enjoys coffee, nature + city life, and adopting a minimalist lifestyle. A few of her favorite places on earth are the California desert, Patagonia, and Taipei. ;)
