MPDM Program Mission

The graduates from this degree program will be proficient in applying leadership, management, and decision making skills in a regulated environment; understanding and conversing with others in a multidisciplinary field; understanding ethical, business, financial, global, and strategic implications in medical product development; and enriching the community with ethical and socially responsible graduates in a field in which the highest levels of integrity are a fundamental necessity.

List of Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) for the M.S. MPDM Program


Students in the MPDM Graduate program will be able to:

  1. Conduct an independent research project and communicate the results in written and oral form in acceptable professional formats. (Effective oral and written communication, information literacy)
  2. Adhere to and practice standards for ethical and responsible conduct of clinical research based on institutional mandates, regulations, guidelines and law. (Social responsibility and ethical conduct)
  3. Identify principles of research design and analyze results of clinical and scientific research studies (Analytic and critical thinking)
  4. Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and decision making skills. Integration of cumulative skills and interdisciplinary knowledge demonstrated in a capstone project (Process planning and problem solving)
