Graduate Admissions

Spring 2025

Applications for Spring 2025 will be open through the Cal State Apply website (https://www2.calstate.edu/apply) in early August. Application deadlines are as follows:

  1. International: October 1st (all documents due October 20th)
  2. Domestic: November 1st (all documents due November 20th)

Fall 2025

Applications for Fall 2025 will open through the Cal State Apply website (https://www2.calstate.edu/apply) in early October. Application deadlines are as follows:

  1. International: April 1st (all documents due April 20th)
  2. Domestic: April 1st (all documents due April 20th)

Because we can only admit a certain number of students into each specialization, we strongly recommend that application materials be sent in earlier than the deadline. The application process is outlined on this webpage, and on the linked SJSU Graduate Studies page as well. Once all materials are in, your application will be evaluated by Graduate Admissions and Program Evaluations (GAPE). In approximately 2-3 weeks, they will be forwarded in the system to the KIN grad coordinator for evaluation, after which you will be notified of your status via MySJSU and mail.  Please consult your MySJSU account regularly to check on the status of your application.

Fall 2025 admitted students must accept their admission if they plan to enroll by (1) saying ‘yes’ through Intent to Enroll and (2) paying a $200 non refundable (and non transferable) enrollment deposit by June 1, 2025 in order to register for Fall 2025 classes. The $200 enrollment deposit will be applied towards your tuition and fees once you enroll in Fall 2025 classes. For more information visit the Mandatory Intent to Enroll webpage on the Graduate Admissions website.
