Join us in celebrating the power of global learning, connection, and exchange during International Education Week: November 16-20. 2026.

About IEW

International Education Week (IEW) has been a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and Department of Education since 2000. This year, several professional organizations are ensuring that the tradition and spirit of IEW carries on: NAFSA: Association of International Educators, The Forum on Education Abroad, the Association of International Education Administrators (AIEA), the Alliance for International Exchange, and AIRC: The Association of International Enrollment Management.

IEW at SJSU

At San José State University, we are proud to showcase the global connections, diverse experiences, and shared stories that make our Spartan community truly international. This year, we are proud to highlight the voices and experiences of our Global Spartan community on social media accounts: International Student & Scholar Services (@SJSUinternational), International Gateways (@international.gateways), Study Abroad & Away (@studyabroadsjsu) and International House.

Whether you’re engaging with us on social media or joining us at an event, our hope is that you’ll be inspired to be curious about learning about others--other people, other places, and other cultures.

IEW at SJSU is brought to you by International Gateways, International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS), International House, and Study Abroad and Away (SAA).
