Dr. Maffini is a Professor of Child and Adolescent Development and Director of HDCC. Dr. Maffini's research, clinical, and community-focused expertise are rooted in counseling psychology, emphasizing trauma-informed practices and culturally responsive approaches to healing, healthy development, health equity, and holistic well-being for children, youth, and families in local communities.

Leads and oversees clinic marketing and communication initiatives, including newsletter, social media, website, and flyers; supports outreach events; and works with SJSU faculty to ensure wellness programming, services, and research projects are disseminated to the public.
