Change of Major

If you are interested in changing your major to Chemical Engineering or to Materials Engineering, please read the information on changing majors in the College of Engineering. If you have <60 units, please talk to change of major advisors at ESSC. If you have 60+ units, please see below.  

Change of Major to Chemical Engineering or to Materials Engineering

You will be required by COE Policy to complete a study plan with a minimum SJSU GPA of 2.5 and with a minimum grade of C- in GE Area 1A (ENGL 1A) and 1C courses, and a minimum grade of C in CHEM 1A, PHYS 50, MATH 30 or MATH 30 + MATH 30W, and MATH 31 or MATH 31 + MATH 31W courses.
