Admissions

Recommended coursework for a competitive application includes chemistry, organic chemistry, and additional science coursework. A minimum GPA of 2.5 is required by San José State University. Higher GPAs are more competitive. The MS in Biotechnology program only accepts applications for Fall admissions.

A variety of 4-year degrees are accepted into the program including biology, molecular biology, physiology, engineering, psychology, public health, zoology, chemistry and many more.  If you have questions, please contact the MSBT directors with questions.

• Two letters of recommendation, a statement of purpose, and a resume should be either emailed to the MSBT director (Sabine.Rech@sjsu.edu for Biotechnology, Kunal.Sampat@sjsu.edu for MPDM concentration) or a hard copy can be sent to the address below:
