XD: The 2025 Master of Design Exhibition
The Natalie and James Thompson Art Gallery is pleased to present the Master of Design 2025 Student Exhibition! Join us on May 6 from 5pm-7:30pm for the opening reception. Experience Design (XD) is about shaping the way we interact with the world—blending creativity, technology, and human-centered thinking to craft meaningful experiences. This exhibition showcases the culminating work of the 2025 Master of Design (MDes) students at San José State University, presenting visionary projects across digital, physical, and immersive spaces. From digital interactions to dynamic environments, each project reimagines how we experience the world through creativity, research, and innovation. Step inside, engage with the work, and discover how experience design shapes the way we connect, communicate, and create.

The Hammer2 Gallery features a rotating display of artwork by San José State University alumni. The current exhibition brings together the work of five alumni artists: Carlo Ricafort, Dani Torvik, Peter Moen, Josie Lepe, Tovah Cheng, and Ian Fabre. These artists explore work in a variety of media, including watercolor, oil paint and mixed media, and diverse subject matter, including personal identities, cultural symbols, family history and abstract forms.
