Bio
Dr. Whitney's educational preparation includes a Bachelor of Arts in English and German from Bowdoin College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Maine, and a PhD in Nursing Science and Healthcare Leadership from the University of California, Davis.
Dr. Whitney is currently the Interim Assistant Director for The Valley Foundation School of Nursing as well as the DNP Program Coordinator. She teaches courses in evidence-based practice, research methods, biostatistics, and nursing theory. Dr. Whitney also serves as an affiliate faculty member with the UC Davis Family Caregiving Institute’s Policy & Program Evaluation Unit and is an editorial board member for BMC Nursing, a peer-reviewed journal in the Springer Nature group. Her research primarily focuses on care delivery and psychosocial support for individuals with serious illness and their family caregivers.
