                     Bio
                     
                        Mary McVey received her PhD in educational psychology from Stanford University in
                           1992. Since that time, she has been a faculty member at San José State where she holds
                           the rank of Professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Development. She has
                           been a leader at San José State in the area of technology-infused instruction and
                           one of the first at the University to teach both fully online and blended courses.
                           Her recent work has explored the use of podcasting, digital portfolios, and Tablet
                           PC's for improving student learning. A 2007 recipient of an Award for Innovative Excellence
                           in Teaching, Learning, and Technology at the 18th International Conference on College
                           Teaching and Learning, she was also selected as a 2007-08 Teacher-Scholar at San José
                           State. In 2009, Dr. McVey received the Provost's Award for Scholarship of Teaching
                           and Learning and in 2009-10 she was selected to serve as a Faculty-In-Residence for
                           Desire2Learn. Currently, Dr. McVey is the Interim Associate Dean for the Lurie College
