Bio

Dr. Steidley has extensive experience in nursing over a diverse range of opportunities. He has practiced in California, Hawai'i, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, and Texas. These have include both inpatient and outpatient care in rural and urban experiences with both civilian and military populations. The age groups he has worked with have been primarily pediatric, adolescent, and young adult. In addition to the SoN, he works as a Nurse Practitioner at Standford and as a Major in the USAF. His areas of interest in research include Adverse Childhood Events and Trauma, eating disorders, LGBTQ+, neurodiversity, and veteran care.

He believes in whole person health utilizing a model of human caring. This emphasizes patient education allowing for informed partnership in decision-making and culturally sensitive evidence-based practice. He also recognizes the importance of policy and governance in allowing opportunity to maximize wellness and limit institutional harm creation.
