Previously known as the College of Professional and Global Education, our name reflects the academic units within the college: the School of Information (iSchool) and the Department of Applied Data Science (ADS). Department of Applied Data Science
The Department of Applied Data Science offers academic programs tailored to the workforce needs for interdisciplinary talents in designing and deploying intelligent solutions to real-world data challenges. Over 150 Silicon Valley companies, including industry giants like Amazon, Tesla, Meta Platforms and Uber, have hired MSADI students for internships and permanent roles. This extensive network provides invaluable connections and inspiration for students entering dynamic tech fields.

School of Information
The San José State University School of Information (iSchool) prepares individuals for careers as information professionals (including in librarianship, informatics, archives and records management, data analysis, information science and teacher librarianship), offering various bachelor's and master's degrees programs, doctoral partnership programs, certifications and credential programs.

The College of IDS announces exciting leadership changes. After 15 years of service, Dr. Sandy Hirsh has stepped down as Associate Dean of Academics to begin a new role as Special Assistant to the Provost for AI Initiatives. Dr. Tonia San Nicolas-Rocca has been appointed Interim Associate Dean of Academics, bringing her expertise in cybersecurity, AI, and student success to the position.
San José State University is launching CyVerse, a groundbreaking immersive learning platform in cybersecurity and AI, thanks to a $100,000 contribution from Honda. The initiative will prepare students with real-world, hands-on experiences using extended reality (XR) technologies.
Underscoring its commitment to advancing artificial intelligence education, the Department of Applied Data Science at San José State University (SJSU) announces the renaming of its Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA) program to the Master of Science in Applied Data Intelligence.
